Flamingo's Tongue – Turks & Caicos Islands

This snail-like creature is common throughout the Caribbean. Usually seen feeding on soft corals such as the
sea fan it's feasting on in this photo, it camouflages its plain white shell with a fleshy mantle which can be
retracted back into its shell when disturbed. It is this mantle that gives this creature its
attractive orange and brown markings.
